This position will play an important role within the DSP Product Development Team at Starkey Labs. The DSP product development team is responsible for implementing the core functionality of our advanced hearing aid devices and as such has a strategic role within the Development organization at Starkey Labs. We heavily interact with Hardware Engineering, Applications Engineering, Software Engineering, Product Management, and Clinical Research teams.

Duties: |
As a Senior DSP Engineer you will:
Design firmware for existing and future hearing aid DSP platforms.
Implement and support firmware for existing and future DSP platforms
Perform duties commensurate with a senior engineer role:
Mentor, coach, and provide work direction to junior engineers and technicians
Coordinate and facilitate design reviews with other lead engineers
Actively participate and provide input in process improvement activities.
Represent the DSP Product Development team during interdepartmental meetings |
Qualifications: |
Education: Master’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or other related field.
Experience required:
Minimum of 5+ years of industry experience in the field of Digital Signal Processing and firmware development for DSPs
Hands-on experience in implementing numerical algorithms in assembly
Knowledge
Strong knowledge of firmware implementation for DSPs is required
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of digital signal processing theory is required.
Knowledge of Audio Signal Processing (such as echo cancelation, noise suppression, compression, etc) is strongly desired.
Skills & Abilities
Proficiency in MATLAB ,C, and assembly language required
Proficiency with fixed-point algorithm design and implementation required
Knowledge of real-time design and processing desired
Proficiency with troubleshooting required
Familiarity with serial/wireless communication protocols desired
Strong attention to details required
Good verbal and written communication skills required
High degree of proficiency in numerical reasoning and analysis required
